Free Swim Promotion

What is the promotion and how do I claim?
We are offering our customers a FREE kids swim (valid when accompanied by a full paying adult, 18 years+) with every participating pack of Kellogg's cereal.

To claim, simply cut out the voucher found on the back of your promotional pack, find your nearest venue using our pool locator and hand it in to reception during a valid promotional swim session.
How long does the promotion run for?
The promotion will begin on 01.01.2012 and vouchers will be accepted at participating pools until 01.01.2013. Promotional packs will be available in stores throughout January – March 2012.
Do I need to buy a pack of Kellogg's cereal to claim a free swim?
Yes, to claim a Free Kids Swim you must purchase a promotional pack of Kellogg's cereal and cut out the voucher on the side or back.
Which Kellogg's products will the promotion feature on?
You will be able to find a Free Kids Swim voucher on any promotional pack across a range of Kellogg's products. These include:

Where can I buy promotional Kellogg's packs from?
Promotional Kellogg's packs are available in all major food retailers across the UK and RoI.

My supermarket does not have any promotional packs, what should I do?
The majority of promotional packs will be in stores between 01.01.12 and 31.03.12. Promotional packs can sell quickly and are sold subject to availability.
How old do I have to be to claim a Free Kids Swim?
You or your child must be 16 years or under to claim a free swim and be accompanied by a full paying adult, 18 years or over.
I am 17 years old, how do I redeem the voucher?
Depending on their policies, each participating pool could classify 17 years of age to be an adult or a child. Please contact your chosen pool in advance to check.
I am not in the UK or ROI. Can I still claim a free swim?
This promotion is only open to residents of the UK and Republic of Ireland (excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man) and participating packs / pools will only be found in these areas.

Claiming your Free Swim

How do I use the pool locator to find my nearest venue?
Once you have a Kellogg's Free Kids Swim voucher, use the pool locator to search for your nearest participating venue and their promotional swim times. To do this, simply enter your town or postcode into the search box and the locator will show those closest.

You will also have the chance to learn more about each pool, including details of the pool's facilities and special offers.
Can the voucher be used to claim a free adult swim?
No, the Free Kids Swim voucher admits one child under 16 years when accompanied by a full paying adult aged 18 years or over. Only one child under 16 years can be admitted for a free swim per voucher.
How much will an adult's swim cost?
The price of an adult's ticket will vary depending on your chosen venue and reflect their current rates. You are advised to phone ahead before visiting for further details.
Is there a restriction on the number of vouchers that I can use?
There are no restrictions placed upon the number of times you may use Free Kids Swim vouchers, as long as each Free Kids Swim is redeemed with a new voucher.

However, please do check this with your chosen venue before visiting. In the interest of ensuring fair access to all, each participating pool does reserve the right to apply additional restrictions and some may choose to limit participants to a maximum restriction of 5 vouchers per household.
Do I need to use my voucher on a particular date or time?
You must use your voucher during a valid promotional swim session at your chosen pool. Dates and times of these sessions do vary by venue and by day, please check the details in our pool locator or call ahead, before visiting.
I have provided my email address on the voucher handed to my local swimming pool(s). What will this be used for?
It may be that your chosen venue will contact you by email in future with further information about the pool, upcoming events and offers.

If you do not wish to receive any further correspondence from your chosen venue, please leave this area blank on the voucher, as it is not mandatory that you provide this to take part.
I (or my child) am not a confident swimmer, what help is available to me?
Please check with your chosen venue, for details of what (if any) swimming aids are available and whether your chosen swim session will be monitored.

We would also request that if you are the adult, you supervise your child at all times.

Redemption Problems

I cannot access the online Kellogg's swim site and pool locator. What should I do?
Please check that you are connected to the internet and that your connection is working properly.

The pool will not accept my free kids swim voucher. What should I do?
Please make sure that you are only visiting your chosen pool with a Kellogg's free kid's swim voucher during a valid swim session for that pool. If for some reason, you are still unable to take part, please contact the Kellogg's Careline, on 0800 626066 in the UK or 1800 626066 in the ROI between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
I cannot find a swimming pool near to me, what should I do?
Whilst we have tried to ensure that there are as many swimming pools as possible participating in the Kellogg's Free Kids Swim, we apologise if there is not one near to you. We are recruiting on an ongoing basis, so please keep checking our pool locator to see if your local pool is taking part.

Kellogg's have supported swimming in the UK since 1996, and are still committed to getting families swimming by investing £2m in swimming over the next 3 years.

Over the past 20 years, Kellogg's have been actively involved with British Swimming, including sponsorship of the ASA awards scheme and the Swim Active Community project. The company also sponsors 4 elite athletes - Team Kellogg's – to help them reach the top of their sport and sponsor all 180 of the ASA's badges and certificates. What are codes and how do they work?
One unique code can be collected from the inside of each participating Kellogg's "Free Kids Towel" promotional pack. The code is 10 letters long and printed in red ink. In order to claim your Free Kids Towel you need to collect 3 unique codes (and pay a postage contribution of £1 in the UK or €1.20 in the RoI). You can then immediately use your codes to claim your Free Kids Towel on the Kellogg's promotional websites, UK: http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/freetowel or RoI: http://www.kelloggs.ie/freetowel.
Whereabouts on the pack can I find my unique code?
Codes are 10 letters long and are located on either the inside front or back panel of the Kellogg's "Free Kids Towel" promotional packs. The code is not printed on the outside of the pack:  please do not use any code printed on the outside of the pack to try and claim your Free Kids Towel.
How do I enter my codes/claim a towel?
First register or log in at http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/freetowel or http://www.kelloggs.ie/freetowel

The website will then allow you to enter your unique codes from packs; you will need 3 codes to claim a Free Kids Towel. Once you have entered all your codes, click the "next" button. The subsequent screen allows you to enter as many codes as you like and choose the number of towels that you would like. The number of towels you are eligible for will appear on the right hand side. The "next" button will take you to the payment stage – alternatively, press "save and exit" to save your codes and details for an order at a later date.

When you are ready to confirm your order you will be asked to pay either £1 (UK site) or €1.20 (RoI site) postage contribution per towel through PayPal. A valid credit / debit card will be required.

Please be sure to enter your billing / delivery address on the final screens and click on "submit" upon completion to finalise your order.
My code is not being accepted, what should I do?
Please check you are submitting your code in the correct format. The codes are made up of 10 letters only (found on the inside front or back panel of your promotional pack), so please double check that you are not entering any numbers. For example, the letter I could be mistaken for the number 1, or the number 0 for the letter O.

I bought some Kellogg's cereal to take part in the offer but it does not have a unique code inside the box, what do I do?
Please make sure that you have a promotional pack by checking if the promotional message "Free Kids Towel" is on the front and/or back. If your pack is a promotional pack, you should be able to find the unique code on the inside front or back panel. The code is not printed on the outside of the pack. Can I input codes into the website and claim my towel / towels at a later date?
Yes, you can "bank" your codes online for future use and claim your kids towel(s) when you are ready. Simply press the "save & exit" button before you move to the payment stage and your codes will be saved for you to place an order at a later date.
I have codes from another Kellogg's promotion; can I use these to claim my Free Kids Towel?
You can only use codes from 'Free Kids Towel' promotional packs to claim your Free Kids Towel(s). Promotional codes found inside packs running different promotions are not valid to claim your free towel.
Can I enter my code more than once?
Each promotional code can only be entered once. To claim each Free Kids Towel you will need to collect 3 unique codes. You can claim more than one towel, however for each towel you claim you will need to collect 3 unique codes and pay £1 (UK residents) or €1.20 (RoI residents) postage contribution per towel.
I still have codes and the promotion has now closed, will I be able to claim my towel?
You will only be able to claim your Free Kids Towel between 1st April 2012 and 1st April 2013. We would recommend you claim your towel by 30th June 2012 to avoid disappointment as this is when promotional packs are most widely available in stores. After 1st April 2013 you will not be able to use your codes to claim Free Kids Towels.

What Postage Contribution am I required to pay and why?
For every towel ordered, you will be required to pay a £1 (UK residents) or €1.20 (RoI residents) postage contribution. The final total will be confirmed before your order is placed. This contributes towards the postage cost for us to despatch your Free Kids Towel(s) to you.
Who are PayPal?
PayPal are an independent payment service provider; you can learn more on the following website: www.paypal.co.uk.

They offer a safe and secure way to pay online, with which your financial details will never be shared.
How will I know that my payment has been taken?
Once your order is complete, you will be taken to a "thank you" page. At the same time, you will receive a confirmation email from PayPal confirming that your postage contribution has been accepted.

If you have not received the confirmation email, please first check your Junk/Spam email folder as your settings may have prevented you receiving it. If after 24 hours you have still not received your confirmation email, please contact the Kellogg's Careline on 0800 626066 in the UK or 1800 626066 in the RoI between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
What information will be required?
Once you reach the payment pages, you will be asked to supply your name, billing and delivery addresses along with your card details. These details will be secured and never shared.
Will I need a PayPal account to claim a Free Kids Towel?
You will not need to set up a PayPal account to take part in the promotion. However, if you are an existing PayPal user, you may use your account to complete payment for your postage contribution.

If you attempt to pay for a Swim Ireland towel in Euros using a Sterling bank account on the RoI site (http://www.kelloggs.ie/freetowel), or vice versa (pay in Sterling using a Euro bank account for a British Swimming towel on the UK site – http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/freetowel), your bank / card provider may charge an additional currency conversion fee. Please check with your individual bank to ascertain what this charge might be.
I am a Northern Ireland resident and would like to order a Swim Ireland towel, what should I do?
If you are a Northern Ireland resident with a Sterling bank account but would like to order a Swim Ireland towel, please contact the Kellogg's Careline on 1800 626066 between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays who will be able to advise further.

Once you have registered, you are automatically logged in to the site. To register, click on the "register" tab in the "order your towel" section and enter your personal details as requested. Clicking on "next" will complete the registration and take you straight to the codes entry page.

Will I need to re-enter my information each time I want to claim a new towel?
You will only need to enter your contact details the first time you claim a free towel. You will then create an account, which you can then log back into using your email address and your chosen password to claim subsequent towels.

If you do not have a PayPal account and choose to pay 'by card', you will however need to enter your address/card details for every claim.
My computer has crashed while I was claiming my towel. How will I know if I have made a successful claim?
After successfully claiming a towel, you will be sent an email (from PayPal) confirming the postage contribution payment. If you have not received the confirmation email, please first check your Junk/Spam email folder as your settings may have prevented you receiving it.

If you still cannot locate the email, you can log back into your account and check the number of codes you have "banked". If the number of codes you have banked has not reduced, then your order will not have been placed.

What towels are available?
Two kids towel designs are available; 1 x UK design for the UK market only and 1 x Irish design for the Republic of Ireland market only. Please see the back of promotional packs or see online for images.

UK residents are advised to go to http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/freetowel to claim their British Swimming Towel. RoI residents are advised to go to http://www.kelloggs.ie/freetowel to claim their Swim Ireland towel.
What are the towels made of?
Every kids towel is made from 100% cotton.
How big are the towels?
The towels are 59cm x 116cm in size, with a weight of 375 GSM.
Can I wash my towel?
Yes, you can wash the towel. The recommended maximum wash temperature is 40 degrees and you may wash by machine. The towel should not be ironed, dry cleaned or bleached. You can find a care label stitched into the hem of the towel which gives our recommended instructions as International Laundry Symbols. We would also advise as normal that you wash dark colours separately.
Can the towel be tumble-dried?
As it is 100% cotton, the towel can be tumble-dried up to a medium heat. We actually don't recommend this method of drying as temperatures can vary and cotton is prone to shrinkage. However, this shouldn't affect the performance of your towel at all. You should find a label with all our recommended care instructions sewn into the hem of the towel.
I'm worried the colours in my towel may run if I wash it. Will they?
Provided you follow the washing instructions given, the colours in your towel should not run when washed.
Are the towels just for kids or can adults use them too?
Given their size (59cm x 116cm); the towels are designed just for kids.

Is there a postal route?
No this is an internet only promotion. You will require access to a computer in order to participate.
I want to take part in the promotion but do not have internet access. How can I take part?
If you do not have access to the internet at home or work, why not ask a friend or a member of your family if you can use their internet, or visit a local library?
How long will it take to receive my towel?
You should receive your towel within 28 days of placing your order. If you do not receive your order within 28 days please contact the Kellogg's Careline on 0800 626066 in the UK or 1800 626066 in the RoI between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
How will my towel be sent to me?
Towels will be delivered by post, packaged in a Poly bag. They should arrive within 28 days of the date of your claim.
Will the towel fit through my letterbox?
Towels should fit through most household letterboxes. However, just in case, we suggest you arrange to have your towel delivered to an address where someone is likely to be around during the day, to save having to collect it from the Post Office.
Can I claim my free towel and have it sent to a friend?
Yes you can enter any address you like into the delivery address section.
